Sign The Petition Against JCPenny’s Unrealistic Mannequins

Written by Kendra

This day and age I hardly expect average sized mannequins in stores when I’m shopping for my own clothing. It’s not fun, but I’ve learned to ignore them and happily shop away. In my opinion, it’s a fight for another day.

I absolutely, however, will draw the line at unhealthy and impossibly thin! I cannot let toothpick sized mannequins hang out in the  middle of a women’s clothing section pretending to represent us.

This is why I ask you to check out this petition asking JCPenny to reconsider using these impossibly skinny mannequins to help sell their clothing to the average woman!

We learn what “normal” is by what we hear and see. While companies are ultimately free to advertise in whatever way they choose, I’m asking JCPenny’s to reconsider the message they are sending to their customers. We want our friends, daughters, and sisters to know that their normal body shapes are embraced when they are trying to have fun shopping for their new clothes.

Thanks!

  1. Have you ever noticed that most stores have to pin the clothes in the back on their mannequins? It would save me a lot of time in the fitting room if they could just make them look like a normal woman!
