Happy Sunday everyone! We are so lucky to have you coming back week after week and showing off your outfits!
Won’t you answer the question “what does joy mean to you” on my post this week? I’m trying to put another post together with some more responses from readers!
Mary didn’t have a post today, but she shared a little project for her daughter, Miss Courtney, on her personal blog. Please go check it out!
We are so lucky to have Christy from Fountains of Home hosting WIWS this week! Welcome, Christy!
It’s wonderful to be hosting my favourite fashion party this week: What I Wore Sunday!
I’m not sure about you, but Mass for our family feels somewhat like a marathon these days. A long, noisy, exhausting, marathon. We have 5 children aged 6,4,3, 21 months and 6 months, and only one Saturday evening vigil Mass at our small town parish. We try to prepare as best we can starting with mandatory naps/quiet times Saturday afternoons, followed by a big snack of as much protein as we can pack into them! As my husband supervises the eating then commences the pre-Mass hosing down, I run around finding everyone’s Mass attire so that the older kids can dress themselves and my husband can wrangle our 21 month old into some dress pants and a collared shirt. I then nurse the baby so that she’s stocked up and won’t have to eat until we’re home again. After she’s changed and in a clean outfit I run to my bedroom and try to throw together an outfit! Some days are hits, and some are misses. Some Saturdays I try on five skirts until one actually fits!
We’re a well oiled machine of baby efficiency around here and are all usually in the car in good time so we don’t have to speed the 15 miles to town. Our parish is very small, so small that I’m the only person with musical experience of any kind and usually play the organ while singing most weeks, aka – I am the music ministry. Since the organ is in the right side front corner, our family occupies the front pew of the right side of the church and my husband is well on his way to sainthood by dealing with 5 kids during Mass for all but the homily when I sit down to act as jungle gym then referee. Some Masses go better than others, some Masses the perk of doing music is that I can adjust the volume of the organ to counteract the volume of my children, and after some Masses I’m more than ready for a drink by the time we get home with a pizza!
Now to the outfit:
Top: Old Navy
Skirt: Florence Adams
Jacket: DKNY via Winners (aka TJ Maxx)
Earrings: Kate Spade
Thanks for hosting, Christy! Send us an email if you want to host WIWS in the future!
